FAQ

Here we share with you some of the most typical answers we may receive. Anyway if there’s something you would like to know which is not in this FAQ just contact us here or write a comment everywhere in the blog. We really want to read all your suggestions!

1. Where can I download the simulators?

You can download all the simulators on Simulators page in this blog: here. There you will find a list of the simulators by categories and the links to download them.

2. When will you upload the rest of the simulators?

Hopefully, shortly. Now that I developed the version 2.0 I’m expecting to release simulators every 15-30 days.

3. Will you make simulators with the actual format of the Miss Universe / USA competitions (Top 20, Continental Qualifiers, Top 13, etc…)

I want to, but first I want to release all the simulators with the classic format (15-10-5-3) as it is easier and faster. But I’m planning on doing some specifical simulators with the following twists:

  • Top 15 – 10 – 5
  • Top 20 – 10 – 5 – 3
  • Continental Qualifiers (4 by region and 4 wildcards)
  • Top 13 – 8 – 6 – 3
  • Top 16 (with Fan Vote)

Still, that is no scheduled yet.

4. Can I change the contestants?

Short answer: NO, long answer: YES, BUT… I highly recommend to not change the contestants if you don’t have Excel knowledge. Still, I’m planning on posting a TUTORIAL VIDEO to teach you all how to do it. It’s actually easy, but needs some time. I’m also thinking about release some BLANK-SIMULATORS, for you to fill up with your contestants. I’m thinking on doing 3-4 with different sizez (40-50-60 contestants or so). But that is not a priority yet.

5. When I check the Full Grid after my simulation I see that the Top 15 are not the 15 highest scores… Why is that happening?

Don’t worry, nothing happens to your pc or Excel, everything is working right When you check the Full Grid you can see all the scoring since the beginning of the competition until the Preliminary show. And just after the Final Score there is a column which rank the girls from first to last based on their average score. You can see that there are girls marked in yellow and others in green. The girls marked in yellow (from 1st to 10th) represent the ten highest scores and therefore the automatic semifinalists. Meanwhile the last five places of that Top 15 is reserved to five random girls ranked from places 11st to 25th (those marked in green). Those five girls represent the girls who are internally selected by the Organization to join the Top 15. I did that “internal election”-rule to respect the Miss Universe / USA rules better and for having that surprise factor which is so Miss Universe. Anyway I decided to limit it to 25th place (and not randomize it from all the contestants) because I didn’t want to fill the Top with undeserved or undesired contestants, but give a chance to those pleasant surprises that are so welcome sometimes.

6. Will you make it for Android?

Sorry, no way.

7. Can you make an online version so I don’t have to download?

Not possible yet. I have been in talks with some people to develope it in HTML but nothing has happened yet. I don’t have HTML knowledge so I can not do it myself. If someone is willing to help me develope it, I’d be glad to talk about it. Just contact me!

If I ever see that some answers are repeated over and over, I will write in here for everybody to know the answer!

And as I have already told you, keep talking, commenting and asking me questions! I’ll be so glad to answer them and read your suggestions!

Which simulator would you like to see released the next…?
